Offering Traditional Cantonese Classics in a contemporary East-meets-West setting
Luxuriously Crafted by Renowned Architect and Interior Designer Steve Leung and Team
(August 10, 2017 – Hong Kong) The long-anticipated Ying Jee Club will officially open its doors this Friday, August 11, the newest ZS Hospitality concept that pairs Michelin-starred Chef Siu Hin Chi’s well-known signatures with fresh yet sophisticated ambience. Located in the heart of Central’s business district, Ying Jee Club is named after where it stands – Nexxus Building, pronounced as “Ying Jee” in Cantonese, symbolising prosperity, success and business.
Led by Chef Siu Hin Chi, a bearer of 15 Michelin stars and a legend within the industry. His sumptuous dishes exemplify the highest standard of excellence in Cantonese cuisine. Ying Jee Club’s menu will bring to the table fresh spins on traditional Cantonese favourites. Exceptional signature dishes include Steamed Egg White with King Prawn Topped with Crab Roe (HK$380 per person); Sautéed Sliced Garoupa with Chinese Kale accompanied with Golden-fried Fish Head and Bone (HK$1,280); Stir-fried Sliced Lobster with Shallot, Red Onion and Spring Onion (HK$380 per person); and Pan-fried Crab Claw Filled with Shrimp Paste Crispy Conpoy Topped with Caviar (HK$260 per person).
Ying Jee Club takes pride in its delicate, exquisite cooking sourced from the world’s best ingredients. The wine cellar features an eclectic wine list for over 300 bottles of wine and liquor from around the world, sought after by the top of Hong Kong dining scene. The elegant restaurant offers scrumptious five-course lunch set (HK$380+10%), composed of a delectable handpicked Chinese classic selection. During dinner, the arena is transformed, bringing guests an unforgettable night of fine dining indulgence.
Overlooking the central business district on Connaught Road, the stylish, two-storey Ying Jee Club, is sculpted by famed architect, founder of SLD, Steve Leung and his design director Janet Choy. Many structural forms are references of patterns and shapes embodying the juxtaposition of both Chinese and Western culture. The mythical Kirin and the abacus metallic bars used in the venue, symbolising prosperity and serenity.
Upon entrance, diners arrive at an unconventional welcoming bar – which is considered a breakthrough in a Cantonese dining setting. The graceful banquet seats are accentuated by an emerald green backdrop, exuding a calming energy. This jewel tone is paired together with recurrent golden highlights, further creating a stunning contrast with the subtle wooden panel floor. Furthermore, ultramodern statement pieces like contemporised glass panel chandeliers and metallic screens are featured amongst the spaciousness, and translates the scene into a hall of vamped up, unseen glamour.
At Ying Jee Club, the options are endless. Different sections of the venue offer a varied functionality; seating 104 guests from the grand dining hall to semi-cosy zones to four enclosed private dining rooms, the versatile Ying Jee Club resembles Hong Kong’s diversity and capability to cater for a spectrum of occasions and people.
